Private family location Coming soon to iOS and Android

Always close,
never tracked.

Your family can know where you are. We can't.

Fenzly shares your arrivals, your trips and your position with the people you choose, and no one else. Everything is encrypted on your phone: our server carries your data without being able to read it.

Your timeline

Your days write themselves.

Fenzly turns your movements into a readable journal: where you stayed, for how long, and the trips in between. It builds itself in the background: all you do is name your places. It goes back as far as you decide and lives only on your phone.

You name your places, once
Fenzly knows where you stopped, not what the place is: a new stop shows up as coordinates. Name it once, with suggestions of nearby places, and every later visit is recognised.
Places and time spent
How long at the office this month, how many visits to the club this year: by place, by category, by period.
Every trip, with its mode
Car, bike, walk, run, bus, train. Live speed, distance and elevation during an outing, then GPX export. No smartwatch, no third-party account.
Yours alone, or shared
The journal leaves your phone only if you choose "Everything" in a circle: your people then see your day, not just a dot on a map.

Recorded in Detailed mode, the default. In Simple mode, Fenzly only keeps your arrivals and departures at your places.

With your people

Built for real life.

Four features for every day with the people who matter. None of them requires handing your position to a server.

Arrivals and departures

Name home, school, the office: Fenzly detects arrivals and departures. You choose what you are told about, place by place, member by member. Nothing by default.

D Dad left Office 17:48

Live sharing

Fenzly's "on my way". Your real-time position, for one person or a circle, for the time you choose or until you arrive, with an estimated arrival time. It stops by itself.

SOS

SOS button

A red button on the map, ten seconds to cancel a mistake, then your people's phones ring until an adult takes charge. No reaction after two minutes: a follow-up SMS goes out. The alert reaches all your circles, unless you excluded one. The server knows an alert happened, never where you are.

Mum took charge of the alert
SOS does not replace the emergency services.

Conversations

Each circle has its conversation. Messages and photos are end-to-end encrypted, like your positions. Live sharing also starts from the conversation.

What time will you be home?
Leaving now, sharing my trip.
Circles

Your circles, your rules.

A circle is a private group: family, couple, friends. Everyone chooses what they share, circle by circle, and can change their mind at any time.

  • By invitation, with your consent
A code like FZ-7K4M-92 or a link is enough. Nobody enters a circle until you confirm.
  • One circle per group that matters
Share everything with family, only arrivals with friends: the setting belongs to each circle.
  • Places shared once for everyone
Add home or school to the circle: each member detects their own arrivals, with nothing to create.

Everything
Your full timeline: trips and stays.
Circle places
Your arrivals and departures at the circle's shared places, and the trip between two of them when trip recording is on.
Latest position
Only where you are when someone opens the app. No timeline, no history.
Off
You don't share your position in this circle, except during a live share or an SOS you trigger.
In all four modes, Fenzly itself sees nothing.

For families who want to stay close, not to watch each other.

Between adults, sharing is always a choice. For the youngest, child mode sets an explicit frame: a guardian turns it on with parental consent verified by SMS, and the app applies guardrails.

  • The child only talks and shares with their family and the contacts a guardian allowed.
  • Invitations and messages from strangers are blocked before they reach them.
  • The guardian can require location sharing to stay on.
  • The child keeps the SOS button, which alerts their guardians.
The principle

The server carries your position. It cannot read it.

A location app usually needs to read your position on its servers to show it to your people. Fenzly is built differently: your phone encrypts each position, for each recipient, before sending it.

  1. 1 · Your phone Measures and encrypts The position is sealed before it leaves the device. 46.2044, 6.1432
  2. 2 · Fenzly server Relays an unreadable block It knows whom to forward it to, never what it contains. 9f2c a81e 77b0 e4d1 03aa
  3. 3 · Your person's phone Decrypts and displays Only the recipient you chose holds the key. Emma arrived at School

What the server never sees

  • The positions you share and your trips
  • The names and addresses of your places
  • Who is in your circles
  • Your messages and photos
  • Your address book

What it sees, because it has to

  • Your account: a verified email or phone number
  • Your devices and your subscription receipts
  • That an encrypted message travels between two accounts, and when

Check for yourself: the "What the server knows about me" export, in the app settings, fits in a few lines.

Two details about maps, address search and map backgrounds, are explained in the help center.

Double Ratchet end-to-end encryption, the same protocol family as Signal. It runs on Olm, an open-source implementation whose core library was independently audited.

How the blind server works
Over time

Reliable, even when the network is not.

  • Offline

With no network, place detection and trip recording carry on, on the phone. Only sharing waits for the connection to return.

  • Easy on the battery

Fenzly reacts to events, an arrival, a departure, a trip, instead of keeping the GPS on. Sitting still, it uses almost nothing.

  • Encrypted backup

In your iCloud or Google Drive, with a key split in two that neither Fenzly nor your cloud can use alone. Or hosted in Switzerland, protected by a code only you hold.

  • No password

A one-time code by SMS or email at each sign-in. Nothing to remember, nothing to leak.

Designed and hosted in Switzerland

Fenzly is built by Logil Sàrl. Our servers are at Infomaniak, in Switzerland, under Swiss law, in line with the nDPA and the GDPR. Switzerland protects the frame, encryption protects the content.

One person pays
They assign a license to each member. The others pay nothing.
Your license follows your account
A subscription taken on Google Play keeps covering your account on an iPhone, and the other way round. It is still managed, and cancelled, in the store where it was taken.
Nothing is deleted when it ends
Without a license, an account keeps seeing its people, without sharing itself.

Prices are shown in the App Store and on Google Play.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We explain how Fenzly works, limits included.

Can Fenzly see my position?

No. Each position is encrypted on your phone, for each recipient, before it is sent. The server knows whom to forward a message to, never what it contains.

Does Fenzly drain my battery?

Not in normal use. Fenzly does not track your route continuously: it reacts to events. On some Android phones, Fenzly must be exempted from battery optimisation so that detection stays reliable in the background.

What happens with no network?

Place detection and trip recording carry on, on the phone. Your people receive the information when the connection returns, and a member with no connection for several hours is flagged on the map. Maps of the areas you have already viewed stay available; elsewhere, the map background is grey.

What if I change or lose my phone?

Sign in on the new phone: Fenzly restores your encrypted backup, places, circles and conversations included. Without a backup nothing can be recovered, since the server holds nothing readable. Turn it on from day one.

Is it a surveillance app?

No. Sharing is an individual choice, set circle by circle, and nobody enters a circle without consent. One exception, by design: in child mode, turned on with parental consent, a guardian can require sharing to stay on.

How do I delete my account and my data?

From the app or from this site, with a confirmation code. Deletion is immediate and permanent: account, keys and backups are erased.

Stay close. Keep your privacy.
